Thank you for using Folderify (hereinafter referred to as "the App"). Folderify is a local macOS utility for designing and applying custom Finder folder icons. This page explains what the App processes, where that processing takes place, and what happens when you choose to contact support or request a review.
The App does not collect or transmit personal information to the developer. It does not require an account, registration, or login, and it has no developer-operated server. Folderify processes the folder URLs you select or drag into the App only to validate the folders, preview a design, and apply or restore Finder folder icons. These operations are performed locally on your Mac and are not uploaded, synchronized, or shared by the App.
If you use History or Favorites, the App stores design snapshots locally through macOS preferences. A snapshot can include colors, material choices, symbol names, monogram or badge text, emoji, layout values, and a timestamp; it does not include the contents of your folders or the folder URLs. You can clear History and Favorites in the App. This local data is not sent to the developer.
Folderify does not send analytics or diagnostic reports. macOS may record local diagnostic messages generated by the App; some messages can contain the path of a folder involved in an operation. Folderify does not upload those messages. If you choose Contact Us, the App opens your mail client with a support address; any message, attachments, and technical details you decide to send are handled by your email provider and the recipient. If you request an App Store rating, Apple’s StoreKit and App Store services handle that interaction under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
The App does not require an internet connection for its folder-icon features and does not include advertising, third-party analytics, tracking, cloud storage, or other data-collection SDKs. The App uses Apple system frameworks such as Finder services, App Sandbox, and StoreKit to provide the features described above; those Apple services are governed by Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.
Folderify uses the macOS App Sandbox and requests read/write access only for folders that you explicitly choose in the system file picker or drag into the App. The App uses security-scoped access for the duration of the relevant operation and does not create persistent folder bookmarks. macOS permissions, file ownership, and other system controls may still limit what the App can change.
The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age and does not collect any information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will supersede earlier versions and be published within the App and on this webpage.

The App is intended solely for lawful folder icon styling, customization, and desktop organization in personal or commercial environments. Users must not use the App for any unlawful activities.
Folderify writes or removes Finder custom-icon metadata and may update folder metadata to help Finder refresh its display. If you enable the subfolder option, the same operation may be applied to eligible nested folders. Folderify does not intentionally modify, delete, or re-encode the contents of files inside those folders. Please maintain backups of important data and verify the selected folders before applying changes. The developer is not responsible for data loss, unavailable files, or unexpected Finder behavior caused by hardware, operating-system, permission, storage, or user errors.
The App has been tested on officially supported macOS versions. However, due to macOS Finder icon caching mechanisms or third-party Finder extension behaviors, icon updates may occasionally require a Finder reload or cache refresh. We assume no liability for system-level Finder rendering delays or minor visual discrepancies across different macOS releases.
The App uses Apple system symbols (SF Symbols), system emoji, and other macOS-provided resources for folder customization. SF Symbols and Apple trademarks are governed by Apple’s applicable license terms. You are responsible for ensuring that any text, emoji, or other material you choose to place in a design is lawful and does not infringe third-party rights.
The App provides options to restore default system folder icons. In rare circumstances where macOS Finder cache delays icon restoration, users can also reset folder icons via the native macOS "Get Info" inspector.
We may release updates periodically to enhance rendering quality, introduce new customization features, or resolve compatibility issues. Users are responsible for keeping the App updated to ensure an optimal experience.
Folderify is an independently developed utility software with no affiliation, partnership, or endorsement by Apple Inc. macOS, Finder, SF Symbols, and Apple are registered trademarks of Apple Inc. in the United States and other countries.
